In Learning Module 5 we were introduced to Web 2.0 applications, file sharing, and imaging for the web. We started off with learning how FTP and Peer to peer(P2P) file sharing. This is the basis of how music, movies, and software are illegally downloaded. Though it wasn't meant for that use, that is pretty much what it has become. We also touched on imaging for the web; how graphics can be productive and help enhance your application. For this section we had to optimize and upload our own images to the web. This makes the image more fitting for its use on the internet by reducing the size and making it more practical to upload. Lastly, we learned about web 2.0 technology. Web 2.0 seems to be taking over with online applications such as Facebook and other social networking sites, numerous online Google applications, wiki's, and many more. Web 2.0 is all about collaboration and socialization.
I thought that I participated pretty actively in this module and had everything done on time, however I wish that I was more active in the discussion section.

This module was about online communication and collaboration online. This is something I believe most people are pretty common with. Most people I know live on Facebook and Twitter and couldn't get by day to day without email; kids and adults. After this module I know more about what goes into email aside from just clicking send and checking your inbox. We also covered more than just email however. We also learned about social media, such as social networking sites, blogs, microblogs, wikis, and cloud computing (web 2.0). These are all tools that we use on a daily basis and should understand how they work and what good can come from them. I personally enjoyed the link which Lisa posted about Social Media being a high school class. I found this to be very fitting.

As usual, I feel I should have been more involved in the discussion and tried harder to get my assignments in at the proper time. This has been a busy semester though!

Learning Module 3 taught me about 21st-Century Skills on the Web, more specifically about advanced searching. I was informed in the Cyber Lesson about the proper etiquette for the digital realm, as well as what information fluency is. The web labs taught me how to search properly, to get the results I actually want. Although I had learned some of this information in a previous class that I took I still learned a lot. I found the video which was posted in the Cyber Lesson on search strategies quite helpful.

Well. Learning Module 2 is over now. Woot. This module covered the basics of connecting to the net, internet security and threats, and internet transmission; the basics you should go for using the internet. Although this module could be a bit dry, it was a nice refresher on how things work and how to protect yourself. I find myself being more careful with what I do on the internet and what is protecting me from foreign threats. I found the internet transmission section the most informative since a lot of people don't know how anything works within a network or the internet. I like the basic, informative videos in the cyber-lesson. Overall, the module was helpful.

During this module my life got fairly busy pretty fast. I fell behind with a few things and found myself scrambling to get everything done. Hopefully this doesn't become an ongoing problem and I can continue to keep up.
